Dear Students, Parents, & Guardians,
It is with great pleasure and humbled honor that I introduce myself as the principal of School No. 1! Over the course of the last year, I have had the pleasure of meeting many students, parents, and faculty members of School No. 1. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the wonderful community of Little Falls. In the short time that I have come on board, I can say without a doubt that I’ve “hit the jackpot” in being chosen to join this amazing school community. I am looking forward to meeting even more families as the school years continue!
As this new adventure begins, my hope is to get to know all of you and welcome you to get to know my educational journey, passions, and philosophies. For a brief snap-shot, I am a 15 year educator with great passion towards building positive relationships with staff, students, and parents in order to build a positive dynamic school culture conducive to learning and growing. I believe in always maintaining open communication, therefore my door is always open to you. Finally, I am an avid promoter of spreading kindness and creating learning environments that are safe and free of judgement in order to optimize student learning experiences. In the world we live in today, the social and emotional well-being of children is a top priority.
Here at School No. 1, we are making it our mission to build relationships with all students and their family members and encouraging students to use their voice in order to engage in proactive problem solving. You will find that many of our classrooms contain flexible seating to reflect 21st century learning environments. Our schedule offers various electives for students to choose from including choir, yoga & mindfulness, computer coding, journalism, band, photography, interactive stock market, creative writing and more! New to the electives course this year is an online language learning course, Mango!, where students can choose between various languages and engage in interactive online dialogue at their own learning pace.
As we enter a new year with new goals, we will also embrace our new district-wide theme, “BE”. Whether you choose to BE happy, BE flexible, or BE kind, we want all of our School No. 1 Hornets to embrace whichever goals they create for themselves! What will you BE?
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call or email me at the school. Again, I am elated to continue this journey with all of you at School No. 1 where it is ALWAYS a great day to be a Hornet!
Kindest regards,
