In the Sustainable Garden Club students have the opportunity to interact with gardening from soil preparation and seeding
to maintaining and harvesting. In this way, they experience the demands and challenges of working alongside nature.
Because we are an organic garden, students are tasked with preventing pests - this can require a lot of resourcefulness
and trial and error! Students work collaboratively to problem solve, all the while fostering a sense of community and pride
in their efforts. What do we do with what we grow? So far, we’ve been donating all of our organic vegetables to a local
soup kitchen and have lots of other ideas! In a world where we are constantly behind screens, the garden is a space of
peace and tranquility.
