Dear School No. 3 Family,

Welcome to my Principal’s Corner!  It is with great honor and excitement I greet you as the very Proud Principal of School #3 in Little Falls, NJ.  I am a lifelong learner and passionate educator dedicated to students’ well being and academic excellence.  Prior to becoming a Hornet, I worked as an elementary and middle school teacher, reading specialist, supervisor, principal, and most recently Director of Early Childhood Education.  I LOVE learning and growing, and it is my hope to inspire the hearts and minds of our educational community to grow and love learning together!

We are a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence within a NJ Lighthouse District.  Our small school houses third and fourth grade and functions like a school family.  We meet together every Friday in a schoolwide meeting to regroup as a school, to celebrate each other, set goals, and practice mindfulness strategies.  Our teachers work together in departmentalized teams which allow them to support our students as experts in their subjects.  We utilize formative assessment and focus on data collection & analysis to help support our students by targeting their needs and building their skills.  Our standards based report cards help clearly communicate student learning expectations and achievement to families at home.

None of our work and achievements happen without our village.  Through various community supports such as the School ⅔ PTA, Little Falls Education Foundation, and the LF Municipal Alliance, we are able to provide our students with enriching opportunities that help facilitate their growth as students as well as good citizens.  Our relationship with the LF Police Department is one we are extremely proud of as they keep us safe and teach us so much about making good choices.

Throughout the school year, be sure to check our website for School No. 3 news and announcements.  Also be certain to check your email regularly and read any mail that is sent home.  Should you ever have a question, kindly call the main office for assistance.  Take some time to navigate through the school and district sites; you can find information regarding policies, procedures, and connections to various resources.

As your School No. 3 Principal, I look forward to helping each student grow socially, emotionally, and academically.  Communication and collaboration can bring this to fruition.  My door and heart is always open.  Hornets, we are in this together!

Warmest regards,

Mrs. Elba Alves Castrovinci
